The Big Band Dance Club and our community partner, Dance Universe, Inc., were proud to co-host Look Who’s Dancing!™ on Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Pan-American Center on the New Mexico State University campus. Look Who's Dancing!™ presented a spirited dance competition between 12 Las Cruces community leaders and local personalities with their DanceSport partners. Each couple performed two dances. All couples danced the American Foxtrot. The second dance included American Tango, Bolero, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Paso Doble, Rumba, and Samba. The purpose of the event was to promote social dancing in the community as a healthful and enjoyable activity for all ages and all skill levels, and especially to benefit the NMSU DanceSport Company.
Over 2000 people attended the event. The support of our community enabled us to donate over $12,000 to the DanceSport Company! Thanks to all of you who made Look Who's Dancing!™ a huge success!
